The QBasic Programming Language
QBasic is an old-school programming language variation of BASIC, which is the classic "10 GOTO 20" syntax style that is so amusing today.
AS the story goes, BASIC really sucked. It was strictly procedural and had limited support for constructs like subroutines or loops. It pretty much sucked.
QBasic is way better. One might even argue that it was the pinnacle of the BASIC series of programming languages, having many powerful features such as while loops, a rich debugger, and excellent hardware compatibility (we're talking DOS here).
Believe it or not, people actually wrote useful programs in QBasic. For example, the Snazzy Menu computer lab system was widely used in the mid 1990s.
